Nokia N96

The Nokia N96 is the new slide design that most phone manufacturers now have at least a few of the program. When you shoot it up, the phone buttons appear, and when you shoot it down, pop the controls for the media player up.

It seems a bit redundant with the extra buttons for media player, because they are already accessible on the phone front. But smart as it looks like.

N96 is a great phone. It can, with its 125 grams, clearly marked when it is in the shirt pocket. The screen is 2.8 "and is an excellent solution. Navigation buttons work well, with lights in them when using the relevant functions.

Stuffed with technology The phone is stuffed with the latest: Here's built-in GPS, wireless networking, 5-mega pixels camera, built in television, internet and so on. Looking at the previous models from Nokia, it is so-so with the news, so if you already have for example a Nokia N95, there is no reason to risk out and switch to the N96.

When you buy N96, do well to invest in a data subscription. Many of the features required to retrieve information from the Internet, and it costs. GPS component which is free download information from the GPS satellites, using an equally free maps to navigate by. But not all cards information found in the phone memory, so they must be downloaded from the web - and then suddenly it starts to cost money. It is a good idea to make sure to fill your phone with the card while still having access to home network, so you can save the cost of data traffic to the phone.

Good camera The camera is in the better end of its five megapixels and image quality is quite okay compared to other phones. Quality can not get to the side of a true pocket camera, but it is good if you do not have his camera. The built-in flash is just a few powerful LED diodes, and the flashes are not powerful enough to freeze the movements like a real flash does.

The phone is sadly not particularly fast and can be quite slow to open programs. The "seed" also a few times during the testing period, so we had to remove the battery and start it again. It works just as if Nokia has not finished developing the phone entirely - and it is a shame.

Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000

Microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard set relieve wrists and provide a working position, which is healthier than the normal flat keyboards and mice. The keyboard is two tier and shaped so as to reach the entire alphabet without having to move wrists. The arcs sharply up the middle, where there is a zoom button located between the right and left part of the keys. If you come from the surface normal keyboard, you just get used to the Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000, but already after a few hours writing it feels really natural and very pleasant to work at.

The mouse is tall, so you can rest your hand comfortably on it while pushing it around on your desktop. It is very good in the right hand, and apart from the location of the two thumb buttons, so you have to lift your hand to achieve them, it is very easy to operate.

The two left / right buttons are soft and comfortable, scroll wheel adjustment goes tight and then it could also scroll sideways. The only problem with the mouse is that it is because of its height can be difficult to control the cursor exactly. It lends itself, at least not particularly good for gaming.

Both the mouse and keyboard are wireless and connect to the PC via the small USB receiver. Installation is very easy. Just set the CD in your PC and follow the instructions.

Hacker attacks in the U.S. is spreading. Now also Norwegian banks have their cards replaced after the biggest hacker scandal ever.

Teller AS, which is Norway's largest provider of payment services, publishes these days letter to 1800 Norwegian Eurocard and Mastercard customers:

Blocking of cards comes due, the newspaper refers to as today's biggest hacker scandal in the banking and credit cards. Heartland Payment Systems, one of the largest U.S. companies in payment transactions, has previously issued warnings that their systems were vulnerable to hackers, and thus vulnerable. Now the Norwegians are also affected by the intrusion of Heartland Payment Systems.

Heartland otherwise considered as having the most advanced security system approved in the U.S. called PCI, and thus had direct access to the transaction system in Visa and Mastercard.

"We have a list of 11 000 Norwegian credit card customers who, due to Heartland case currently monitored 24 hours a day," says public relations at Teller AS, Anders Bigseth.

Smart Firefox plugin gives a taste of Web 3.0

The wise have long talked about the "semantic web" or "web 3.0" but the vision is lagging, as you know after the fact. And perhaps many of the things which is cool by the vision can be implemented relatively simply, instead of complete re-design of existing websites.

A clever little program that gives you a bit of future browsing is Firefox plugin SimilarWeb which allows the user to see which sites other users feel offers something of the same major as the website you look at in the browser window.

The program can be configured either to display a small selection of thumbnails from the other side of the left-or right column, or display a longer list of URLs without images. You can also completely remove the program from the columns, and only access the list of pages in the browser's taskbar, if you think it turns a little too much, or just use it once in between.

Mobile phones can not withstand cold temperatures

Modern mobile phones do not work at low temperature. Some models will stop working when the temperature falls down to zero, because the battery is too weak, "said Swedish experts.

They believe that the producers did not provide enough information about the problem and it is relevant and important knowledge, especially to consumers in countries with damp and cold, such as in Scandinavia.

The instructions for phones from Nokia of Finland says that the phones must be handled at temperatures between 15 and 25 plus degrees.

Competitors LG, Siemens and Sony Ericsson say that their phones can withstand temperatures from minus 10 to plus 55 degrees. Apple writes in the manual for its iPhone that it should not be used at temperatures below 0 or above 35 degrees.

The new and popular mobile phones with pressure-sensitive screens instead of buttons, is particularly temperature sensitive.

Nokia's head of customer services in Sweden, Anders Larsson says that its phones are likely to operate in temperatures below 15 degrees. But he admits that if it is very cold, then individual functions set out, for example, you may notice that the screen is slow.
