Windows 7 Beta out now

Although Windows 7 Beta first should have been distributed to developers and other test rabbits in January, so it is now found on various bittorrent sites.

One of those who has windows 7 already is Adrian Kingsley-Hughes, who blogs over at ZDNet, and he is impressed. It is not so much difference between beta and the previous builds, but stability is now so high that he does not hesitate to recommend it for daily use.

New features include a workable trouble shooter, aerodynamic features, and taskbar'en. Trouble shooter in Windows 7 has eight categories, which among other things can configure a new device, optimizing power consumption or run programs designed for older Windows versions. The new aerodynamic features allow for example the user to see what he has on the desktop, without having to minimize everything, and mouse movements to the use of window handling. So if you hiver example, a window into the right corner, so you maximize it.

The taskbar is however a pain for Kingsley-Hughes, who praises it as visually pleasing, but which he believes is trying too much. For instance, it is difficult to see the difference in the programs are running, and then the shortcuts you have been there, he said.

Windows 7 Beta installes in only only 25 minutes, Unfortunately, there is not yet official driver support from hardware vendors, but Microsoft's drivers also works just fine, according to ZDNet.
